Preferably weekly on Tuesday morning, but we will coordinate this together based on your wishes and availability. Theo is a 73-year-old man with an intellectual disability. He cannot speak, he expresses himself through sounds. You can hear from the intonation whether he likes something or not. He also uses gestures to make things clear. For example, shaking his head no if he doesn't want something or clapping his hands if he likes something. If you ask him something, his first reaction is often no, but if you ask him again, he often wants to. If you insist too much, he can sometimes get irritated. When you meet Theo, the management can give you tips on how to deal with this. Theo understands spoken sentences, for example if you ask him at the table what he wants on his bread, he can point to the topping. If he does not understand something, questions are clarified with objects/gestures or by taking him to what you want from him. He eats and drinks independently. Theo likes to help with household chores such as setting the table and loading and unloading the dishwasher. He also likes to participate in activities outside and he likes to watch television and enjoys the compliments he receives when he has done something (well). • Be creative with paper pulp, making cards or mosaics together with a client • Wednesday, Thursday or Friday from 09:30 to 16:00 or part of the day, we will coordinate the frequency and times based on your wishes and availability • We are looking for a patient, creative volunteer who is not afraid to get dirty. Some affinity with the target group is desirable De Kei is a day activity centre of Severinus in the Borghoutspark district in Veldhoven (Zeelst). In De Kei there are 5 working groups of different nature with varied activities and composition of clients. Participants work a different number of half days. We are looking for a volunteer for Ruimte 5 on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday from 09:30 to 16:00, or for part of these days. We will coordinate the frequency and times based on your wishes and availability. Within room 5, clients work who consciously choose to be creative and who like to achieve good results with this and also want to develop in learning new skills. It is a working group where pulp is made from paper in a traditional way and the processing of pulp into, for example, a vase. Making other articles can be split up into small sub-processes. In addition to making pulp from paper, cards are also made and mosaics are made. Made articles are sold at the Severinus shop Pronk in the City Center. Other activities that are done are in line with the needs of the client, such as sorting work, making puzzles. The very enthusiastic and experienced team is looking for a volunteer who can help them with the 1-on-1 learning of an activity mentioned above. Working together until a client can do it independently. We ask our volunteers to be patient, creative, empathetic and not afraid to get dirty. Some affinity with the target group is desired. We are looking for a volunteer who wants to go for a walk with Vincent, cycle, have a drink on a terrace with him and everything in between. Vincent also loves animals, football, conviviality and proximity. You can go in all directions with him and in terms of activities he likes almost everything! The preference is for 2 x per month in the evenings, on a Friday afternoon or in the weekend (morning or evening), we will agree on the times and frequency together based on your wishes and availability. Vincent is a young man of 19 years old. He is very cheerful and social. He likes everything that has to do with conviviality. He also really likes active things to do, such as walking and cycling. He absolutely loves going out for a drink and being among people. Vincent has 22Q11 syndrome. He can quickly and violently change emotions. There is also verbal aggression and very occasionally physical aggression, although this is not frequent or common behavior. We are looking for a volunteer who is empathetic, patient, cheerful and social. In communication, he or she must be clear (short and concise). She works 3 days a week (Wed-Thu-Fri) at De Plank, a day care location of Severinus. She is a bit insecure and sometimes looks at herself a bit negatively. The colleagues use solution-oriented techniques to increase her self-confidence and self-esteem. Compliments are very important here. Of course we guide a new volunteer in this. We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer who wants to go out with Willemijn. She likes to go to the Soos on Thursday evenings from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, but she also really likes to walk somewhere and drink coffee or eat an ice cream. A day out together, for example to the Efteling, is also something she really enjoys! She has a great desire to have a buddy, who does not mind living with Severinus and where she can be herself and especially enjoy a day or evening together. All this preferably on a weekday evening or in the weekend, but this is of course negotiable based on your wishes and availability. Romy is a young lady of 22 years old. She is very caring and sweet, wants to do well for others and is sometimes afraid of disappointing someone else. Romy attaches great value to contact and people, they quickly become very important to her. That is why it is nice that someone gives her clarity and good agreements are made. The volunteer must also keep to the agreement (except for exceptions), she finds it very difficult to cancel agreements made. Romy often has a full head with thoughts and voices in her head. She has low self-esteem, she is working hard to change this. Romy has a high level, has a short-term memory and loves conviviality, humor, chatting and drinking coffee. She finds it difficult to come to the activity herself, she needs the volunteer to come up with ideas and set out the activity. The residential home can then visually put the activity in her help card so that she knows what is expected of her that day, this gives Romy peace. Cindy is a cheerful lady of 50 years old. She is very attentive to everyone and she will always ask how you are doing. She walks indoors with a walker, outdoors she also uses it for short distances, otherwise she goes along in a wheelchair. Cindy is beginning to develop dementia.
